چکیده

Hypersensitive-induced response protein (HIR) is a class of plant immune proteins that play pivotal roles in Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary resistance. However, there has been no systematic investigation and identification HIR genes rapeseed (Brassica napus L.). Hence, we identified 50 BnHIR classified them into four groups. Subcellular localization prediction suggested are mainly localized the mitochondria. Cis-acting elements involved light diverse abiotic stress were found promoter regions BnHIR. The majority Groups 1/3/4 expressed most examined tissues, especially leaves siliques pericarp, while Group 2 not or had low expression all detected tissues. In case S. inoculation, strongly induced, homologous 1, which exhibited different patterns. Moreover, overexpression BnHIR2.7 Arabidopsis thaliana illustrated its prominent resistance to sclerotiorum. Our study provides insight evolutionary relationships family B. lays foundation for their napus.

Comparative transcriptomic analysis uncovers the complex genetic network for resistance to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum in Brassica napus

Sclerotinia stem rot caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum is one of the most devastating diseases in many important crops including Brassica napus worldwide. Quantitative resistance is the only source for genetic improvement of Sclerotinia-resistance in B. napus, but the molecular basis for such a resistance is largely unknown. Here, we performed dynamic transcriptomic analyses to understand the ...

Overexpression of Three Glucosinolate Biosynthesis Genes in Brassica napus Identifies Enhanced Resistance to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Botrytis cinerea

Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Botrytis cinerea are notorious plant pathogenic fungi with an extensive host range including Brassica crops. Glucosinolates (GSLs) are an important group of secondary metabolites characteristic of the Brassicales order, whose degradation products are proving to be increasingly important in plant protection. Enhancing the defense effect of GSL and their associated de...

Engineering Sclerotinia Sclerotiorum Resistance in Oilseed Crops

The fungal pathogen Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary is worldwide in distribution and pathogenic to more than 400 plant species. This disease causes significant yield losses of various important crops including sunflower, canola, and soybean. Applying fungicides and crop rotation are currently the major methods of controlling this disease. However, fungicide chemicals are expensive, not ...

Characterization of the dry bean polygalacturonase-inhibiting protein (PGIP) gene family during Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Sclerotiniaceae) infection.

Polygalacturonase-inhibiting proteins are leucine-rich repeat proteins that inhibit fungal endopolygalacturonases. The interaction of polygalacturonase-inhibiting protein with endopolygalacturonases limits the destructive potential of endopolygalacturonases and may trigger plant defense responses induced by oligogalacturonides. We examined the expression of fungal pg and plant Pvpgip genes in b...
